Pay attention, recruit! You will receive vital information that is essential to your success in the Royal Canadian Navy. . . . and "Yes" you will be tested. To start, memorize the key parts of a modern warship:

Explanations:

Bridge - The command centre of the ship. Includes steering and engine commands, communications, range finding for guns

Forecastle - Usually contains crew quarters and galley

Magazines - Where the shells and explosive charges are carefully stored for the guns. Could contains over one thousand main shells plus anti-aircraft ammunition

Boilers - They produce the high pressure steam that drives the ship's turbine engines

Engine room - Contains the turbines and reduction gear that power the propellers

Rudder or Rudders - Steers the ship
