The private says he has not heard or seen anything from the other end of the tunnel, so the two of your climb back up to the surface.
You later hear that there were thirty Germans hiding only a few metres away. They surrendered to the second attack wave.
On the surface your lieutenant says "Good timing, Sergeant. Your fifteen minutes is almost up". He becomes very excited when he sees the German documents and maps.
He sends them to Battalion HQ with a runner. "Good work, Sergeant. There could be a medal in this for you".
You don't care about the medal. You still have the schnapps and sausage
which you share with your buddies that night.
