War Headlines, March 1945

By March, 1945, the end of Nazi Germany is near. In the East, the Red Army has driven the Germans out of Poland and Hungary. The Soviet generals are planning their attacks into Austria, Czechoslovakia and Germany itself. On the West, the American, British, Canadian and Free French armies are preparing to advance to the Rhine and beyond, on a long line from Luxembourg to the Netherlands.

By April the Soviets are driving on the Nazi capital, Berlin, while the Western Allies have crossed the Rhine and are pushing to the east quickly.
