January 27th - The Soviets break the Seige of Leningrad

After 1000 days of fighting, the Red Army breaks the siege of Leningrad. Soviet troops are on the offensive against the German Army on a 3000 km wide front. In the largest battles of the war, the Red Army has sustained millions of casualties, but it has turned the tide and started to drive the Germans back steadily.
