Nov 15 - Canadian destroyer Saguenay escorting an iron ore convoy off Cape Race, Newfoundland, is badly damaged in collision with freighter
Azra near Cape Race. The freighter cuts off the Saguenay's stern. Depth charges from the destroyer's stern explode and sink the freighter.
Saguenay is towed to St. John's and later used as a training ship as part of HMCS Cornwallis
