As part of Operation Cycle and Operation Ariel four Canadian destroyers are dispatched to help the retreating British Army escape from France. HMCS St. Laurent and Restigouche evacuated troops from La Harve while HMCS Fraser and Restigouche helped evacuate soldiers from St. Jean de Luz
