WW1 experience shows that "D" is the best answer. Direct assault will lead to a
massacre of your men. The 1916 Somme disaster made this clear.
Using tanks will work, but can you wait until they become available? Tanks are not under an Infantry Brigade's command.
Crawling forwards might work, if your men can get that far before the enemy machine guns, rifles, artillery, mortars and grenades kill them.
Canadians in WW1 learned that advancing on two fronts and only moving when the
machine gun was sweeping the other way is very effective - if you have nerve and can get your timing right.
