Final Historical Note No one Canadian soldier experienced all the events described in this simulation. Parts of the story have come from the experiences of each of the three Canadian Infantry Divisions: Here's where each section of the simulation has come from: 1. Enlistment, training, in Britain, 1939-1941 - 1st Division 2. Dieppe, 1942 - 2nd Division 3. Italian Campaign, 1943 - 1st Division 4. D-Day, North-West France, 1944 - 3rd Division 5. Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, 1944-45 - all three Divisions All the "Diary Entries", "Letters Home" and "Memoirs" included in the simulation are authentic, as are all of the battlefield photographs. The tests, challenges and decision screens are all based on intensive research This simulation has covered the experiences of Canadian soldiers in Europe in WW II. This is not the entire story, however. Canadian soldiers also served in North Africa, in Burma and in Special Operations teams inside Occupied Europe. Other parts of this simulation will explore the contributions of our Navy, and our Air Force. 1. Return to Start 2. Exit Simulation |
