On Leave: Speaking English?

Your Company has been given some much needed leave in the local market town. As you are doing some window shopping a local shopkeeper says:"You speak funny. You a Yank?"

How should you respond?

You have no idea what he meant so you ignore him

You aren't sure what he meant so you just nod your head and hope he goes away.

You reply " Sorry, you are mistaken. I'm Canadian"
