One New Zealand student pilot recalled: I was discussing the effects of blackouts with my instructor who offered to demonstrate them to me.
On our next flight, he dived sharply, building up speed before pulling up sharply. I complained that apart from feeling the usual G Force I had felt
nothing. The dive was repeated with no better result, so in a third attempt he went into a screaming dive and pullout. Again I failed to black out,
but rivets popped out from the aircraft's port side skin which peeled back from the engine to the rear cockpit. The instructor landed safely with me
holding on to the flapping metal to stop it peeling back further and hitting the Tailplane. I got a very rude reply when I suggested that we try again.
