You talk to your lieutenant. He reluctantly gives you permission to search the bunker, despite his orders to keep advancing. He gives you his pistol and suggests you have a grenade ready to use, if necessary. He orders one private to follow behind you.

"Good Luck", he says, "I can give you fifteen minutes. Then the platoon is moving on, with you or without you."

You step down into the bunker entrance, with the private following behind. Your pistol is ready and you have a live grenade in your other hand. Your heart is beating quickly.

You go down thirty steps. A the bottom is a cross tunnel going in two directions. No one is in sight.
